Canadian Residents Travelling Outside of Canada:
Unexpected medical treatment is the single most expensive hidden cost you could get hit with when you travel-whether on business or pleasure, within Canada or around the world.
Government health insurance plans will pay only a small fraction of expenses if you are sick or injured while outside Canada. Some hospitals charge thousands of dollars of dollars a day, not including doctors fees or diagnostic services. Travel insurance is intended to cover sudden, unexpected, and unforeseeable circumstances.
Just be sure to stay covered with Emergency Hospital & Medical Insurance, if you have an expected illness or accidental injury while away from home to get the care you need.
